Tide Pool Treasure Box

Tide Pool Treasure Box

Kids are always digging for treasures down at the beach and need a safe place to keep their finds. This Tide Pool Treasure Box can act as safe haven for all of the shells and corals they have brought home and need a place to live.

WHAT YOU NEED:

Wooden Box - If you can get a box with an indented top, they work better.

Scissors

Glue

Mod Podge

Shells

DIRECTIONS:

PRINT your Tide Pool Treasure Box template.

CUT the fish and coral you choose. If you want more images, look in magazines, travel pamphlets, or draw your own.

IF YOU WANT A BACKGROUND you can use a ripping technique to rip some blue paper and line it across the bottom of the wooden box, horizontally.

PASTE your cut-outs onto your wooden treasure box.

TO GET DIFFERENT COLORED CORAL, use the coral template as a stencil and trace it onto colored paper to make more.

MOD PODGE over the images when they are all pasted down. This will add a top layer to your box and help to hold the images down safely.

BE CAREFUL WHEN USING MOD PODGE THAT YOU DO NOT PASTE THE TREASURE BOX OPENING TOGETHER!

ADD shells, sand, glitter, etc. to the roof of your treasure box.

GLUE the objects on the roof down safely. Use a glue gun if possible as that gives a stronger hold.
