Make it! Blooming Mother’s Day Card

This Mother's Day, keep the store-bought glossy cards away, and do what every mom really wants... hand-make a card just for her!

Now that we know how to put together the perfect bouquet, we thought we would use our new skills to create the most beautiful bouquet of flowers just for our mom's on their special day. While we are sure they would love the real deal, our Mother's Day bouquets are getting a little twist this year, just enough so they can stick around for a little while longer without drying out and being tossed away when the week is through. Our bouquets are going two-dimensional.

We often need more than one card on this occassion (for our Mother-in-Law, Grandmothers and our new-mommy friends) and since we are designing the bouquets ourselves, all of the cards can still be personalized and original enough for our special ladies to be proud of and keep forever.

We've provided five different cards and a selection of the most beautiful flowers around. The arranging is up to you!

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO GET STARTED:

Card Template (print on regular size cardstock)
Flower Template (print on regular size paper)
Scissors
Glue Stick

PRINT the card template (choice of 5 designs) on cardstock.

FOLD the cardstock in half, flattening the folded edge.

PRINT the flower cut-out sheet.

CUT the flowers and leaves of your choice, close enough to the edge, avoiding a white outline.

TIP: We suggest cutting out each object broadly, and then doing the precision cutting on your individual cut-outs.

ARRANGE the cutouts on the front of your card to form a bouquet. We started with the leaves as the base, and arranged the flowers on the top layer.

GLUE all of your pieces down onto the card according to your arrangement.
