Sing Away the Flu
Why is getting my kids to wash their hands harder than getting them to lose their pacifier, bottle or diaper? At Moomah Cafe, we employed a method that parents consistently told us they appreciated.
The rule of thumb is that you want your child to wash his or her hands for 20 seconds at a time. We posted lyrics to a fun song that lasts about 20 seconds next to each sink. Parents told their kids to wash their hands until they were done singing the song. The kids would have a great time singing and parents would rest easy knowing their child's hands were nice and clean.
One of our favorite song that we chose is an old classic, Blackbird, by The Beatles.
